Nevermind why, but I have extra tall front sights on my Glocks.
I’m looking for holsters that will accomodate them… Virtually every holster looks like the front sight would drag along the inside of the holster and either hang up the gun in the holster or rip the front sight of the gun.
Suggestions?!
I would look into something that is made for suppressor sights if you think they might snag. Most of the kydex holster companies have that as an available option.

I have a G-Code SOC holster and it fits my Trijicon suppressor height sights barely. These are the tallest suppressor height sights out there, at least 1/16" taller than the Ameriglos. They don’t touch, but I bet if I yank the pistol out of the holster fast enough it will be close enough to split an atom and cause a nuclear explosion.
Try a rig from Dale Fricke or JM Custom Kydex. Let them know what you want and they’ll set you up.

I don’t want to argue kydex vs. leather vs. nylon, and I know this’ll sound old fashioned, but I like leather and nylon.
Also, I want a retention strap… I know, I’m a curmudgeon.
Really, I just want a regular “pancake” style holster, but with enough clearance for a big front sight.

It works fine, and the “patented SightStrip” really doesn’t interfere with a tall front sight, but I’m looking for other options.
I have a few Comp-Tac paddle holsters, and they all have ENORMOUS front sight channels…but they don’t seem to fit your other criteria.
Yeah, I like Comp-Tac’s “Gladiator,” and I wouldn’t mind a kydex “holster” on a leather frame, but I really want a retention strap.
To explain: Most of the time I carry I’m out hiking and/or fishing and/or mountain biking, and I’m moving around, a lot.
I want a “pancake” style with loops on the far ends because then the gun tends to “bobble” less back and forth while I move.
I want a retention strap, because I don’t want the gun to work loose or fall out while I move (nevermind if I fall).
JM customs can and will make what your looking for out of kydex. He has done 5 for me from rmr sighted glocks to rmr m&p 9 and pros all with suppressor hight sights.

Eta he also has the outside loops like you want for owb and iwb, you can also get a wedge to pull the gun closer to the body if needed. Custom Kydex .

OK, I’ve narrowed this down to a “small of the back” holster.
I know I’ll be the only guy in America CCWing anything but an appendix holster, but that’s just me…

As a guy who wants a retention strap because he’s afraid he might fall while partaking in rigorous activities, I’d caution you against a small of back holster. If you fall and land on your back there’s a very high probability that you’re life just changed for the worse. You know what’s best for you, so use your judgment. A broken back and severed spinal cord is way too high a probable outcome which is partly why that carry style hasn’t caught on. There’s other safety reasons too, but you probably understand them already.

Thanks, Blitzkrieg… I’ve mocked this up with a pancake, and the fattest part of the gun (the grip and rear of the slide) wind up along my right kidney, and it’s just the barrel that’s running parallel to my belt.
And “very high probability” is overanxious… I don’t rock climb, and I’m not going to fall off a roof, and I’m not a very aggressive mountain biker – when I fall, it’s usually just a tipover.
Honestly, I think the reason that people don’t like SOB is just because it makes sitting in a chair or in a car extremely awkward.
Tucker Gun Leather’s order form requires the customer to specify if front sight is taller. I have no doubt that the owner will make it like you need it.
Ask for an extra tall sight channel, this $hit isn’t rocket science… 
You can be walking along a sidewalk or through the grocery store, slip and fall. Your muzzle is sweeping someone most of the time. The grip will bang your kidney with some movements. You do not have total control with SOB. May not be easy to get proper grip and safely unsnap. Who am I to say, I wore a pistol on my hip for almost 40 years.

I never carry out on my hip, because then it’s not “concealed” at all. Even when I us a “normal” holster I slide it around to 5 o’clock or so.
I’m 6’0" and 180lbs or so, I’m not in bad shape, and about the only concave part of my body that would fit a pistol is the small of my upper back…
