Hodge AU mod2 12.5 weight

Anyone with an AU Mod2 full rifle have a scale they can grab the weight with?. Need to count ounces, plus this gives everyone a reason to post;) pics

Howdy,
…You seem confident you can get one?

I’m a wishful thinker that’s about it.

Alrighty.

All I can say is they would not weigh significantly different from a similarly sized/equipped fighting rifle, like say a Daniel Defense. Hodge did put a lot of thought into the balance of rifle though. Overall the rails are stout, the barrels are best called tapered mid-weight, and maybe the receivers have a couple ounces shaved. Ultralight was not the aim. The mod 2 prototype leveraged the weight savings of aluminum lithium to add to the reciever profile for an huge gain in strength without a net gain in weight. But I don’t know if the current mod 2s even use the same reciever profile as the prototype. Based on the overrun ALLi uppers weapon outfitters got a whole back I would say not. I think only prototype mod 2s got the ALLi wedgelocks, the rest are 7075.

Thank you, that helps a lot. Well the overall robust design is a plus so I’ll gladly take the trade off in weight. Thanks for the reply

Reality is a bitch. Prepare to wait 1-2 years for one.

They weight whatever unicorn farts do. But they’re not as common. Plus they (hodge) are better at meme photoshopping.
