Why does Hodge Defense mark their lowers “Restricted Gov’t/LE use only”? Appealing to the mall ninja crowd perhaps?

A couple questions.
Who is ‘we’ and what is the capacity you are using these guns in.
What parts failed on your KAC rifles?
Other than ‘feel’ which is really a placebo, what exactly made this gun special? Is there something technical about it that makes you choose it? How is it from another quality rifle with a SMR on it?
I love extremely high end gear, and understand it comes at a price. I still don’t understand how the price of these are justified, they just seem so vanilla in a market full of very innovative gear.
Did it not come with BUIS on it for 2000$?

Horsehide, I have the same Geissele rail on one of my SBR’s and it’s great. As for the Hodge, enjoy brother. They are nice.

Why the **** was this thread even started if you’re just going to abandon it?! I still have yet to see anything remarkable about this rifle. It’s either listing standard easily sourced parts or some vague reference to “craftsmanship”, " attention to detail", or some other fluff BS.

I still don’t understand where all the butt hurt is coming from with this rifle. It has some excellent quality parts and its price is on par with other rifles in the category. Though I still think for the money I’d be more likely to buy a Knights rifle.
Tostado22, the receiver extension is mil spec diameter and 6 position like what BCM or LMT sell with their rifles. The upper and lower are your typical receiver sets just made to a tighter tolerance to give a better fit. SMG Lee did a video where he pulled the rear takedown pin and the upper wouldn’t fall forward because of how well the two receivers fit together. And yes the barrel / BCG combo is a pretty standard hammer forged middy and M16 spec.
At the price point of what you can get a Hodge AU-MOD1 for,
I think it would more than hold it’s own against the lower priced Noveske’s and quite a few of the Daniel Defense models in that $1600-$1750 range. Most of us here consider DD and Noveske as reputable manufacturers putting out excellent products. People in the know consider Hodge to be right up there. Enjoy your Hodge Horsehide and keep us in the loop on how it performs in the future.
