HK's new MR556A4 (video)

I guess I just have no desire to own anything HK. I’m sure they won’t care if they could see me down their nose.

Bret, She was never buying the BMW in the 1st place. Nobody is going to not get the car because of a cup holder. Complete BS

indianalex01, I’ll be kind and just say that’s pretty audacious of you, not knowing me or how my mother thinks, to say that something I witnessed first-hand with my own eyes and ears is complete BS. Not that I care what you think, but for the record for everyone else to see since you called me out as a BS’er, here are the facts. It was early 1984 and she was looking to replace the 1970 BMW 2002 that my father bought for her in Germany when he was in the service there. She was looking at a 1984 BMW 325e since she really liked her 2002. One thing she’d seen while looking at other cars was cup holders. She hated the aftermarket cup holds that you’d hang from the door and wanted something that was integral to the car to hold her coffee cup. I told her that wasn’t a good reason not to buy a car that she otherwise liked, but she said that it was her money and I couldn’t argue with that. Driving comfort was more important to her than mechanics or performance. Here’s a 1984 325e:

Note that there isn’t a cup holder. The car she ended up buying was a manual transmission 1984 Nissan Stanza. It had a holder inside the center console right behind the emergency brake that fit her coffee cup. You can see it in this video at 11:17.

She literally paid over sticker for it because there was a limit on the number of them that were allowed to be imported and demand was high. An interesting thing about that car was that it had a 4-cylinder engine with eight spark plugs, four in the intake side and four on the exhaust side. Another interesting thing was that you could also shift the gears at certain RPM’s without pushing in the clutch.

Weird, all the manufacturers spontaneously decided to put cupholders in cars, and it had nothing to do with whether it affected consumer purchase decisions.

From HK barrels to cupholders… curious thread drift. I’ll play.

I wouldn’t want a daily driver without cupholders. Coondog wouldn’t like it much neither.

A few outfits have the MR556 A4 11" pistol just under $3K for Black Friday and I’m seriously considering it. UGH 7.5lbs in shorty config, maybe not.

Out of sheer curiosity, has anyone here installed a super safety or FRT on one of these?

I might talk myself into an M27 forgery.

I think there is a youtube video of it working. Let me see if I can find it.

EDIT: Here it is - It is the ARC Fire FRT - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsCZvMbUGz0

And the Arc-Fires are currently showing in stock. Work as a drop in with both MR556 and MR762 - although obviously racks up the ammo cost much more quickly on the 762.

I’ve yet to try an FRT but have been reading up on them and the different iterations. I want to try one but don’t want to take a reliable gun and hack on it to get it to work.

Yea,into from HEAT,one of the greatest scenes in cinema with the whole gunfire sequence! Anyway my cousin has one and its been outstanding for him. He’s an old fart like me and doesn’t just do mag dump after mag dump but its worked good for him. He lives in GA and when I went down this fall I played with it for a mag or 2 and its pretty cool.

Well maybe you should GTFO then.
