Surprised that piece wasn’t written by Rachel Young, co-owner of the justifiably-despised “Fighting Sheep Dog” and all-around squeeing fangirl for anything put in front of her to sell.
TFB is getting like RedState in its writers: some sparks of genius in a sea of suck.
I don’t know what there is to improve on current mag designs, but HK is known for making some quality mags. Wonder if they will be $1,200 each ?

I have some of the all polymer smoke colored mags. I don’t know what generation they are but the seem to have a lot of feed lip flex, though that has never affected performance in my experience. They are okay, but I still like my USGI and PMAGs.
Fighting Sheep Dog is a local gun shop/store to me. Have met and been on the range with the owners (Rachel and husband several times). They do seem to be disliked around my neck of the woods lately-related to storefront location change. Haven’t seen any of her articles before. John, her husband seems like a stand up dude.
I’m put off by it’s CAA/Mako/FAB Defense aesthetic, although that obviously has no bearing on how good a mag it actually is.
They look good and all, but when PMags are $9 why bother? Maybe I’ll buy a few (assuming they’re on sale by themselves) just to see how they are, but I’ve been saying the same thing about the DD mags since they came out. Hard to justify five DD mags when I can buy 10 PMags for the same price.

That is what I thought at first too; Tapco, Hexmag, Promag, CAA, etc.
I understand that HK wants/needs an in house OEM mag for their AR platform rifles but yeah PMAGs all the day long and that’s without even knowing HK’s price point provided they sell them here.
Would love to have one for the old mag collection but that’s about it.
Her “articles” on TFB are basically manufacturer press releases, either reposted verbatim or with insignificant commentary. It’s so obvious and absurd that it’s not even clear if they are meant to be actual articles (as in original writing or meaningful editing), or if they are literally meant to be press releases and she’s listed as author only because she did the cut-and-paste to put it on the TFB website.
I’m more interested in the VP9/P30 style adjustable grip they have on the pictured rifle in the link. There are simply too many good, well priced magazine options already to give these a solid chance… especially since they will surely be expensive.

They’re also known for making mags that rust ridiculously easy, and have springs that fail. They are pretty, though.
