I just got to see the best of copy in a long time, I was discussing with my dealer today about the MP5 they have in stock and I told them to do me a solid so I could have one but they said no that the price they are offering is very much ok and unfortunately for me due to me always buying I have used up all my coupon codes they have provided me, too bad.
But then they told me about the Century Arms MKE AP5-P which looks just like the MP5 and they told me it shoots just like it as well and it is cheaper, I even had to ask them to send me a picture of it and damn that looks so much like the MP5.
So want to ask has anyone had the chance to shoot one and how does it feel and is it compared to the MP5 even a little bit.
I have only shot a real MP5 once, a full auto rental so I don’t think I can give a true comparison.
I got an MKE AP5 pistol a couple years ago, Form1’d it to an SBR and made it 922r compliant. At first I was going to keep it 80’s nostalgia but I “modernized” it with a rail, light, laser, optic, silencer, et al. Can’t lie, one of my favorite guns to shoot. Everyone I have shoot it loves it as well. Smooth and dead nuts reliable.
Pappabear has an HK clone… one of the “good” ones built on the HK tooling, but I don’t know the manufacturer for sure off the top of my head.
Without a full auto option, the MP5 is not my favorite sub gun. The lack of bolt catch and spongy trigger aren’t my favorite features.
The Sig MCX (or whatever it’s called) is my favorite to shoot, followed by the B&T, then the Strybog, and MP5 last. The HK clones aren’t bad, but they’re just not AS fun as a sub gun with AR ergos and features.
I’d bump the Strybog up on the list, but mine is straight blow back and recoils pretty stoutly.
