A Document received by TFB, dated a week ago, show that Heckler & Koch GmbH (Germany) applied to Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) to sell a semi-automatic version of the famous H&K MP5K and H&K MP5SD on the civilian market. The application was approved by the Police with some caveats. The new guns are called the HK SP5k and HK SC5SD.”
That’s really cool. But they really need to bring back the regular MP5s as well. I’d buy an A3 if it wasn’t ridiculous. I’d also buy a /10 if the mags weren’t $150 a pop.
From what I understand these will not be for sale in the US. At least not yet.

They need to import a full size MP5 as a pistol with a 3 lug barrel.
If they want to get out of their financial troubles, MP5s and the US market is the answer.
MP7s too if they can re-chamber them in something else.
I would love to have a semi auto MP5 type carbine on the market but not at the prices HK will ask for it I am sure.

Me too. MP5’s are just fun to shoot. I prefer .223 carbines for real work but MP5’s are just fun.

It is wishful thinking but yea I’d love them to import that. The old ones are just too expensive and the clones are too iffy.
Not gonna happen. They still produce the MP5 series, they no longer offer the G3 or 33. I think the 53 might still be in the catalog.
Additionally, just because they are making a semi MP5 doesn’t mean it will be importable to the US. I think I’ll wait for the official announcement and then wait to see what is actually offered for sale.
We all remember what happened with the MR556. Personally I’d rather see them produce a non neutered G36 semi.
Growing up I remember attending the annual Fed/LE family shoots and by far my fondest memories involve laying waste to target after target with an MP5 on full auto. Good times

IF…HK dioes this, I’d buy one and SBR it in a heartbeat. Would be a great home defense gun for inside the house.
Course, with the amount o Gold and Platinum HK will want, it would be cheaper to SBR an AR in .300blk and suppress it, and pay someone to watch over your house with, including benefits.
