Just an FYI for those who like tact looking .22’s, the Umarex HK 416 22lr was supposed to be released in July per their website. However, I just called to see when they would arrive this month and the woman said ‘August, it was pushed back’. Seems this happens more and more with HK ‘related’ products. Anyway, I’ll continue to shoot my M&P 15-22 and GSG-SD til it comes out…
Just curious, what would the advantage be of a Umarex .22 HK416 over a Umarex Colt M4? Or the MP15-22?
I cant imagine it would be a gas piston .22 - would it?

I heard there were issues with the Colt from Umarex, so even when the 416 comes out, I will wait for reviews. It is licensed by HK, so hopefully they will be reliable and able to shoot most anything and not just CCI high velocity rnds. Also, HK has been delaying the .223/556 416 (MR556 civilian) for so long no one believes it will actually come out. Supposedly the .22 version is built with all metal parts unlike the SWMP-15/22. I think honestly people will say it’s ‘tacticool’ and want to buy for it’s looks. It is not piston drvn. I personally enjoy the fun of .22’s and saving the ammo of the .223/556 …
umarex colt was horrible…I had nothing but problems with it…Pot metal that felt sooo cheap and nothing worked like the forward assist etc…I sold the colt and have had the Smith .22lr and love it…My shop had brought in 10 Colts and sent 8 back for issues…I would totally wait for the reviews before buying this one…
That was my experience as well. The Umarex/Colt .22 AR was junk, through and through.
