Anybody have any expeience or first hand knowledge of these AR’s?
There not open yet, but the spec’s on there website look good.
For what there are selling for, I am wondering what, if any, corner’s are cut?
Thanks, Terry.
Henderson Defense makes some of the best AK’s available today IMO. I have been talking with Ron from HDI quite a bit lately and he seems to be quite the perfectionist. I believe these will be an excellent addition to the AR market.
Just by reading the website, it appears the following are missing:
Mil-spec barrel steel
HPT (both barrel and bolt)
MPI (both barrel and bolt)
H buffer
No mention if the RE is mil-spec or not
No mention if the FSB is rated for a flattop

I appreciate the feedback.
I have been reading this sight for a long time, are there different grades of 4150 steel?
I am going to call them right now and inquire about bbl’s, bolts, RE and testing of steel.
I hope it’s a good AR, but for the initial cost, “if it seems to good to be true, it probably is”, is probably true.
Just got off the phone with them,
wilson bbl’s
no “F” height front sight base
commercial RE
And the guy I spoke with on the phone stated he knows bbl’s and bolts are not individually tested.
Yes, there are different types of 4150. Read this: https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=37
It put it simply, 4150 is not the “good stuff.”
Wilson barrels are ok. No F marked front sight base means that you will need a taller front sight post if you use anything other than a carry handle. Commercial RE’s are also a no go.
The bolts and barrels are at the most batch MP’d. This is virtually worthless without first HPing them.
So IMHO, this weapon is about the same as a BM, but below a good many other AR’s.

Ron and the gang are good people. As stated before, AKs are their specialties. Don’t know first hand on the quality of their AR build/repairs/PWS piston retrofits but I suspect that they stand behind the quality of their work…

Thanks for the link Grant.
I’m not advocating buying one, nor will I buy one.
I’m just putting it out there to see if it was viable as a hard use carbine.
If other’s know this company to be reputable, then I’m sure they are.
Terry
You are welcome. We all have our definitions of what a “hard use carbine” is and their’s would not be my definition (YMMV).
