Help with trigger installation

I’m installing my first Geiselle trigger and before I screw it up, I’m hoping for some guidance.

First, I can get it all together and in the rifle without a problem. The problem is when I reinstall the safety. Like, the trigger won’t budge once the pistol grip goes on and the safety detent follower drops into the safety and positions it. I can move the safety around enough for the trigger to clear and work properly without the detent follower in position, but the detent follower pushes the safety out and away from the reciever and just enough that safety binds up with the rear of the trigger…

When I look straight down into the reciever, the trigger does seem canted slightly. The rear of the trigger/sear is closer to the right of the receiver than it is to the left. This (in my estimation) had lead to the safety binding and the inability for the trigger and sear to move up and down, and thus the hammer won’t drop. My thought is that the trigger pin holes in the receiver may be slightly out of spec - just enough that the trigger mechanism has canted a bit.

My thoughts on what to do are as follows - I can see that if I remove a little metal from the underside of the safety that the trigger will clear. It appears like I will also have to file a little around the little ridge on the safety so that it won’t bind after the trigger is depressed.

Does it seem like I’m heading in the right direction? Any tips or thoughts would be appreciated.

Who made the selector? When I have seen this in the past, it was with Stag Arms (CMT) selectors being cut to narrow. To fix the issue, you have to widen the channel that the Trigger rests up against.

Good question. it came with my Noveske lower, so it would be whatever comes standard with that.

I think I’m following you on the widening the channel thought except for the use of the word “hammer”. If you mean the hammer, any tips on the best way to do that?

It is CMT. Widen the opening on the selector so that the rear of the trigger can fit up inside it.

Thanks, it sounds like I was on the right track, but its great to get confirmation. Just grind enough away, following the lines and angles on the selector, that the trigger fits inside and doesn’t rub, right?

Correct.
