help with pros/cons

I got that wonderful check from President Bush finally, but Im sitting on a fence trying to decide which gun to wait for and spend on. I am very attracted to both the kel-tec RFB AND the Masada in 7.62 (already own an M4 btw) but I do like the fact I can possibly switch out the Masada to share the M4 ammo… What I would really like is a discussion on the possible pros and cons to help me decide. In my heart, I have to say I really want something in a larger caliber anyway, and Im not sure if 762x39 is big enough to win me over from the RFB NATO (never owned a bullpup and I have to say its growing on me and it seems perfect for that SHTF weapon)
some advice???

appreciated

Maybe first start by leaving the disrespect of our President at the door?

It’s President Bush not Mr. Bush.

Very true M-4, he is the duly elected president of the United States.

comon guys, no disrespect was intended… AND it has been fixed, so please, isnt this a worthy topic to discuss? I really would like some input on this subject, but I have a feeling it will be overwhelmingly in favor of the masada and I would like to know why exactly?

It’s kinda hard to discuss the pros/cons of vaporware. The general shooting public has no hands on experience with either rifle. It would be pointless speculation, IMO.

how does this news impact everyones initial decision? Anyone? Ive never dealt with a BM personally, but being in the army, I have almost 10 years experience with my M16 and that POS M249 (hate that thing!)

Buy some training.

really? Is that meant to be smartass? All I wanted was peoples honest opinions on these two weapons possible capabilities or shortcomings for what they were designed for… btw, when was the last time YOU went downrange?

Tread lightly, you may get knocked on your ass.

for? I fail to see anything Ive said wrong… I only asked for honest opinions on admittedly vaporware, but nowhere did I ask for snide comments on my character. Ive served in the army since 1999, four years in Italy with the 173rd and then a year in Iraq with them as well where I was blown up driving a 10K MHE, and after a month in the hospital I was reassigned to Ft Huachuca AZ. I spent two and a half years of my time with the 173rd as a unit armorer, so I consider myself decently trained with my classes and range time. To quote one of my favorite NCO’s sayings “I have more time in just a field latrine than most of you have in the army” go ahead and ban me, just another soldier down the drain

Cool. Thanks for your service. This doesn’t give you a license to question mods here, regardless of your service. FYI TheKatar is also a vet.

Thanks for your service. Don’t be so thin-skinned. My comment was not snide, it was meant to help you spend your money more wisely than on some new toy or gizmo. Take what you already have and spend the money on some civilian contractor-conducted training and then you’ll see how it compares to what the Army taught you.

Good luck.

well, thank you for that… I appreciate the clarification. Got a specific training course or provider youd recommend instead then?

Where are you located?

still down here in the good ole $40 CCW gold star open carry state of AZ

LMS Defense Carbine I

Anywhere near Casa Grande?

If I remember right, thats up there near Florence? We drove up there to use a NG/reserve range because FT Huachuca wouldnt sign off on our MK19 range due to dry conditions… I think thats about a 3-4 hour drive

15-17 March 2008 - 3 Day Carbine Operators Course
Pat Rogers

Casa Grande, AZ

Reno, NV and Brady, TX will both host Larry Vickers this year.

Im checkin out that GGT site now… dang, 2000 rounds and $800 for I and II… that would take a good bite out of my LC 223 reserve. Luckily I got almost 6k back from taxes (owed 900 last year because of the wife not filling out her w4 correctly- so I had even more taken out to make sure this year) so I might be able to take a class AND buy a new rifle!
