I removed the buttplate from a side folding Arsenal rifle, and I cannot figure out how to put the spring loaded trap door back together? Anyone have any suggestions?

It’s pretty simple. The door is captive between the stock and the plate, as is the spring. Make sure the door is right way round and then put it on the stock, when the spring is in the right position it will fight you and try to push the door off the stock. Then push the buttplate into position, holding it down while you get the screws in. If the door moves very much take the plate off and start over.
I can’t take pics of mine since I’m traveling. The door works exactly the same as the wood stocked versions. You just have the extra button of the stock release to deal with.
