I recently aquired a new BCM standard 16" middy upper. For now it will wear the middy MOE, MVG and illum kit. I am giving consideration to a drop in rail and have it narrowed down to two, the DD omega 9.0 and the Troy 9" drop in.
Durability is my main concern. One is free float and the other (Troy) is not. That is not a big concern to me, my main concern is if the Omega quick attach system would be as durable as the drop in non free float Troy. I don’t want issues of the rail shooting loose, and the less preventative maintinance or re-tourquing of screws the better. The Troy is significantly cheaper but that is not a deciding factor for me, and to be honest I would prefer the DD if someone could provide me with experience showing the DD omega mouting system is good to go for hard use. I have felt both, and much prefer the profile of the DD omega rail.
Anyone with experience, please advise which system would be more durable.
