Help needed

Hi, my fiance really wants an AR 15 Carbine, and I have no clue where to begin in looking for which one to buy, so I’m hoping I can get some help on here. Thanks in advance!

Just keep in mind that many of the members here have actual operation experience with these weapons, and they know of which they speak.

Welcome to M4Carbine.net! You have come to the right place to learn about serious use ARs. It’s simple once you understand it, but the journey can take awhile. I would not presume how much firearms experience you have, but there is much to be absorbed.

What I would recommend is that you contact C4IGrant. He sells ARs, AR parts and accessories through the G&R Tactical website. He is very knowledgeable and is dedicated to selling his customers what they need & want rather than just selling something just because it’s what he has on hand. He is also known to recommend going to one of his competitors if they can serve the customer better.

Send him a PM with your questions. He’s good about answering.

Here’s a link to G&R Tactical webpage http://www.gandrtactical.com/

Grant isn’t the only one who can help you, but he’s a great place to start and won’t steer you wrong.

Good luck with your project. Your fiance is very lucky! Hope you stay with us here on the forum!

Thanks so much!

Easy answer, get a rifle from Grant. Good prices, great service, and unlike most gun stores…Grant shoots what he sells, so he knows what is what with his merchandise. Besides, if you are like me, you want to give your hard earned cash to someone who earns it, and is a hella nice guy to boot.

The first and most important thing is to establish a budget.
Let us (or Grant) know how much you are planning on spending (total) on this. This should include all accessories, from slings to magazines.
Of course, the larger the budget, the easier the solution, but $1500 can get you pretty far if you are purpose-driven, and about $1000 will at least put a functioning, usable rifle in your hands.

So I got my fiance a Bushmaster Carbon-15 M4 Flat Top Carbine, 16 inch with a red dot sight, and he’s thrilled! I’m wondering if anyone on here is in WV and would know the laws on where he could shoot it (if he doesn’t want to go to a range) or if anyone knows if I can find out online. So far the searches on Google haven’t helped…

Help me out here. You came to the site, asked for opinions and then didn’t show back up. Then you purchased one of the worst AR’s on the market. I don’t get it.

Congrats on your new rifle, best people to ask about your local and state laws, would be to give your local police or sheriff office a call, they will be able to tell you all you need to know.

Iraqgunz Help out here. You came to the site, asked for opinions and then didn’t show back up. Then you purchased one of the worst AR’s on the market. I don’t get it.

I’m sorry, I don’t see where you offered helpful advice? Why are they the worst? I did do research and I work with a girl who’s in the reserves, who helped me the most, so I thought I was getting help from reliable sources?

Thanks, I work next door to the county’s Sheriff’s Office so I may run over tomorrow and ask. Thanks again!

I hope your fiancee enjoys it. Good luck.

Thanks, I figure it’s his first one, so this will determine exactly what kind of gun is his favorite. And if it is a bad choice, at least I’m not out a lot of money!

Okay. Which one of you opened a new account and started this thread to pull everyone’s leg?

I’m sorry? What do you mean?

Divine,

As you may be gathering, the Carbon 15, while a neat concept, is not well-loved among M4 enthusiasts who are into “working” carbines. The odd reactions your getting are based on coming onto a “professional/serious enthusiast” forum, asking some decent questions that should’ve gotten you aimed in kind of the right direction, and then proudly announcing that you got one of the guns that would’ve been -not- recommended by this crew.

Does it mean the gun won’t serve your fiancée’s needs, or that he doesn’t love it? No. But you asked for the collective opinion here…and you’ve now received it.

wow

I hate threads like this.

The cycle is ridiculous

Okay, thanks for clearing that up for me. You live and learn right? Seriously, I know it’s hard to decipher tones over the computer, but I appreciate the replies, harsh and helpful.

WOW a Bushmaster, and a Carbon Bushmaster…someone did not do their research. These “I need help buying a AR” threads never cease to amaze me. This has to be someones idea of a bad joke thread.
