Help Me Find A Simple Flashlight Mount For A SureFire 6PX Tactical Or P2X Tactical...

Tried doing a search and now I’m even more lost.

First problem is I can’t find the body diameter of my two potential weapons lights. Going to run a Surefire 6PX Tactical or a P2X Tactical. I believe the body diameter is the same for both but I don’t know what it is and I need to know that before I can buy a mount with the correct ring size.

For some reason SF doesn’t give the body diameter on their website.

As for the mount itself, I just need a simple ring or dual ring setup that mounts directly to a picatinny rail. I don’t need anything offset or cantilever or QD, just need something better than airsoft / CTD quality. I’d like to not have to spend as much on the mount as on the light so I don’t need Larue anything.

Just need something so I can mount one of the above lights at 3 o’clock on a rail that will clear a 1.37" bezel if I decide to go with the P2X Fury.

This will be helpful:

Info on ring sizes:

.830" / SUREFIRE - E-Series. VIKING TACTICS VTAC-L4-BK, VTAC-MINI-L4

1.000" / SUREFIRE - 6P, 6PX, 9P, G2X, FURY. EAGLETAC- T100C2 Mark II. ELZETTA- ZFL-M60. FENIX- TK10, TK11. STREAMLIGHT- All SCORPION, All PolyTac

1.030" / SUREFIRE - G2, G2 LED, G3 LED, G3 NITROLON

You have to go an be all uncool and shit and make it hard don’t you? :jester:

Other then Larue I am at a lose for standard mounts and are just straight inline mounts. I don’t think many even make them any more do they? Everyone is offset and fancy and shit.

Anyway, cheap-ish, and possibly quick solution, at least until someone posts a better one, might an a spare scope ring that will fit the body of the lights. Not high speed, but could work.

Next option, maybe troll the E&E for a Larue mount, lol.

VLTOR Scout Mount

ETA: ah, need to verify it would clear the bezel if it won’t be extended past the rail

THANK YOU.

And thank you, looks like a winner.

I have one in a box o’ crap somewhere, though I think it’s the (now discontinued) model for 1.010" lights like the G2. You can have it if you want, may be good enough to test fit or you can run a 1" light with a piece of heatshrink on it which is what I ended up doing for a couple years.

Appreciate it, but having to modify or rig up things to work drives me nuts. The cost of the Vltor 1" mount that correctly fits the lights I want to run isn’t very much.

1" weaver QD rings in various heights worked fine for me and Surefire for many many years before all the cool dedicated stuff came out!

Maybe this guy? Would be closer to two though.

The scount mount is good. I run a few of the Offset version. But the GEARSECTOR is the best pic rail mount ever.

Steyr, I have a spare Danger Close mount that you can have. Pm if interested.

So the obvious question is why do I want my light at 1 o’clock rather than 3o’clock. Seems like it would be harder to get to.

I usually keep my thumb at 12, so 1 is easier for me.

This is for a 6945 with a VFG.

a full-length VFG or shorty? either way, if you’re using the VFG ‘properly’ (without your whole hand on it), the 1 o’clock position is more natural for your thumb to reach.

Word! In order for me to run a light at 3, I’d have to put my hand down on the VFG like milking a cow or some such. Even with a VFG My thumb still most naturally activates a light at the 11 o’clock position.

$15 Straight picatinny 1" light mount ---- http://www.gggaz.com/one-inch-flashlight-mounting-ring.html This works if your bezel is forward of the rail.

I used one of these for two years on a work gun. I recommend it. Especially for the price.
