Basically a one/two point convertible. I have seen some with the plastic quick-release buckles, which I do NOT want. I am looking for something as simple as the Magpul. Less points of failure the better.
The closest I could think of was the Magpul MS2, but the hooks were slightly different and not as easy to manipulate.
If I had the equipment and skills, I would simply replace the snap hooks on the MS3 with these hooks and be done with it…
Not sure why you’re specifically looking for a sling with the HK snap hooks. You mentioned being concerned about points of failure and the HK snap hooks are known to have their spring loaded gates fail. That’s probably the reason why most notable manufacturers (VTAC, BFG, etc) go with QD swivels or other methods of attachment.
If you’re still pretty set on HK snap hooks and want a 2-to-1 convertible option try looking at Emdom’s Gunfighter sling.
It has the ability to mount either HK snap hooks, ITW mash hooks, or QD swivels. I have this sling however I use the ITW mash hooks. They are simpler in design to the HK hooks as they don’t use springs. Either way that’s one of the few options you have as most slings don’t have a metal D-ring to allow for converting to a 1-point sling. Hope that helps.
After having a little issue with MS3 I thought about swapping over to HK hooks. The D shaped piece is too thick for the HK hooks I have for me to clip on there to convert it to a 1 point.
I am still in the thinking about it stage. It takes me forever to actually get anything done these days. Also there is the issue with the “ring” that I spoke about.
