Anyone know what color Duracoat will be similar to Disruptive grey? Thanks.
Why not just use Cerakote as that is what Disruptive Grey is? The recipe is 2/3 Tungsten Cerakote and 1/3 Graphite Black Cerakote.
Because I don’t have the equipment to do cerakote,I plan on getting a can of the spray paint type duracoat
I would apply the $35-40 you are spending for the Duracoat to the cost of having a professional apply Cera-Kote. If you are not financially able to do that just use Krylon.
Big difference in price there bro. I’ve used Alumahyde in the past with great results. I imagine the Duracoat would be as durable or better.
Are you baking on the duracoat?
nope, just letting cure in a super hot garage closet.
From my understanding, just spraying it on and not baking anything in will not be even close to as good as cerakote. But I am not an expert on this topic.
I don’t mean to speak for the OP but there is a spray on version of Duracoat that doesn’t require any baking, etc. I have no idea how durable it is but I suspect this is the route he’s going.
^ It is.
Fair enough, I am not familiar enough with that product to give him an opinion then.
Changed my mind. Going to go with something similar to Kryptek Mandrake and will be buying an airbrush to apply.
Isn’t that an airsoft color?
Not sure, I just know its very effective in my AO and looks cool, which is rule #1.
