help finding a specific sling qd mount/adapter

Guys, I am looking for a dq sling mount, but I am not sure who makes it or, frankly, if it even really exists. Bear with me…

The unit I am thinking of is kind of a bulbous-looking assy, the ring mount for which seems to wrap around the receiver extension/buffer tube behind the castle nut, unlike most plates which mount forward of the castle nut flush with the back end of the receiver. In the body of the assy there is a female adaptor port (my word, don’t know the nomenclature) for a standard push button qd swivel. The port is set up in such a way as to accept the push button swivel on an angle from below and directly behind the mount. It does not accept the qd mount in line with the longitudinal axis of the rifle.

Does this sound familiar? I think I saw a photo of a unit like that, but for the life of me I cannot recall where…

Is this the mount you’re talking about? It’s made by TangoDown. PR4 Mount.

I know which one you’re talking about, I saw it in an ad. Looking…

no joy

Tallyho!!!

Any thoughts on this?

It looks like an interesting design, but to be honest I’m completely satisfied with my ASAP endplates.

I gave up QD sockets when one of my soldiers had his swivel rust while locked into the weapon. No longer QD. Having said that, if you’re going to go the QD swivel route, there are a few choices that should be made.

Can you make alterations to your weapon? (Most soldiers and police officers aren’t allowed to, for example.)

If so, check out the Noveske or DD endplates.

If not, you should look heavily at the TangoDown PR4, and perhaps at this TacticalLink. The PR4 is highly recommended by several instructors including Pat Rogers, if that holds any weight for you.

Ordered one. Wil post on it when I get a a chance. Thanks again.

the unit arrived today, along with a $10 rebate card. kinda cool. anywho- the construction quality seems very good. installation was a 20 second affair, since the thing mounts aft of the caste nut. It seems secure. actual testing to follow.
