I’ve got a friend who is new to ARs. I don’t know how much he wants to spend exactly, but he was interested in the LE6900 I told him about until I got all the info on it. Not what I want to get him into.
I don’t want to guide him into a rifle that he will not be able to build on. I’ve built my 7 ARs with good quality parts Noveske, BCM, LMT, DD, and such, and I’d like to help him.
A Colt LE6920 would be a great start. The pricing and parts availability are just starting to improve for DIY builds, but he is not a really patient guy.
What would you suggest in a complete rifle? Or what would you do for a DIY or custom rifle?
Complete rifle is the way to go for his first IMHO. Quality guns at good prices are coming back, if he’s REALLY impatient tell him to whip out the credit card…
Not a bad deal on a Geissele trigger and LPK, the BCM set up is good too. I guess we have to decide to buy a complete rifle or build and I’m unsure at this point.
Yeah, I think we’ll skip the S&W rifles, but you might be right about finding a complete rifle. But one thing I forgot to say is that it needs to be a Comiefornia friendly dealer.
I’m walking a buddy through a build right now and I’ve had the opposite issue. I’ve had to talk him out of spending far to much money of several parts because he’s somewhat impulsive. I’d honestly rather have the guy being cheap and have to sell him on a part than have him help exacerbate the problem by buying PMAGs at $40 a piece.
Wow! Clyde’ is the first website I have seen with 6920’s at a “reasonable” price. Jump on that deal and use the extra $200 for some mags (PSA 10 pack deal) and ammo.
Yeah, that is a problem too. My bud is impulsive too, but he buys stuff just because it looks good. You know they type. You can put chrome spinner wheels on a turd and make it look good.
Yeah, now if they’ll ship the 6920 to Comiefornia we might have a deal.
I just gotta get them to put a stupid bullet button on it. They can keep the magazine.
