Any one have a recommendation or use the team Wendy epic air?
Ordered an epic air kit from botach.
Been using it over here in Afghan for the last 8 months or so.
I love it, works real well with my peltors and is fairly comfortable, as comfortable as a helmet can be I guess.
I did have an issue with some of the pads coming apart, but they give you a ton in the package, so…
Let us know how you like them OP.
I also have been running and Epic Air system here in Afghanistan but only for about a month. I ran it during our work up to though. It’s been great for me, and makes our issued helmet bareable, and without pressure points like the issued 7 pad system.
Never new about these. I guess these are on my want list. Would love a long term review 6+ months to know how they hold up.
Digging up an old thread instead of starting a new one… unless the mod thinks it warrants a new one.
I am looking to replace the standard issue OCC dial liner in my Ops-Core Fast Maritime. Used as a military helmet (Bino NVGs, counter-weight, peltors). For some reason I can not stand wearing it anymore, it never used to give me problems but now its not comfortable whatsoever, mainly the plastic frame of the liner digging into my head.
I am looking at the Ops Core Lux Liner and the Team Wendy Epic/Epic Air. Does anybody have hands on time with both or any substantial information to compare the two systems (pros/cons)? Any and all information is appreciated!
While I haven’t used the Epic Air, I have used a few other systems with the standard Ops-Core
I used the LUX liner for about a year and what I quickly noticed when compared to the standard Ops-Core dial liner was that the LUX really reduced airflow inside of the helmet. With a headset on the LUX also had less space for the head strap and would produce new pressure points that sucked. With goggles (ANVIS + battery pack) the LUX liner was a bit better than the stock liner. With both liners you still have the issue of having to weave the headset into the suspension system. Ops-Core does not make replacement pads available for the LUX system (I even called and asked) so when they get nasty it’s time for a whole new liner.
About a month ago I switched to the TW Revolve liner with just an H-Nape chinstrap, so far this is the best system that I have run. It did take a fair amount of adjusting to get a good fit (added in thin earcup spacer pads from the HGU56) to add some volume in the temple area, the helmet is now more comfortable IMHO. I have only about an hour running this new set up with goggles, at this point, but so far it feels better and is quite stable with goggles on. I have some night training scheduled in a few weeks so that will be the real test I guess. For use with comms I just pop out like 4 of the disks and then my Lib headset fits in fine with more space than with the LUX liner. Airflow is better than with any other system that I have recently run. I haven’t yet had the chance to do any aggressive night work to see about fogging on goggles or with eye wear.
I have also used just the standard TW pads in the helmet and they were not bad, better overall average comfort than the LUX IMHO, just not as stable with heavy goggles on the helmet.
I currently run my Ops Core Martime with OCC Dial set up. I replaced the top and front pads with the Team Wendy Epic Air Front pads. Makes it WAYYYYYY more comfortable. I didn’t like the fit of the Lux Liner. Made the helmet much tighter. It also felt like the weight wasn’t spread evenly when wearing the lux liner.
My previous helmet was the Crye Precision AirFrame with TW Epic Air and TW BOA chinstrap.
Currently run PVS-31s and Peltors as well. Operations usually last 3-4 hours.
No experience with ops core pads or suspension system but the latest gen Epic Air pads are fantastic.

Another Epic Air vote; although the revolve looks interesting, but I haven’t used that.
I’m hoping that soon with all this laser measuring and 3D printing we will have the capability to quickly scan a user’s head and custom print a helmet and liner to fit. That would be awesome. Until then it seems we are fated to constantly be switching up helmets and pad systems. I’ve been through high cut MICH, Crye, Ops Core helmets and who knows how many pad systems. Fit and comfort have definitely improved, but it’s not the promised land yet.
So which chin strap is recommended to go with the Team Wendy liners (Epic Air or Revolve) the cam fit or the cam fit h-back? Mainly; which one is most stable for Bino-NVGs?
Anyone Considering a Team Wendy product might want to read this:

Supporting Billary is truly pathetic.
That puts them even lower than CTD or Troy.
I was close to getting their Epic Air lining but not anymore. Yes, supporting ANY Clinton is disgusting and they deserve to go out of business.
Team Wendy has taken a lot of heat for supporting Obama and Hillary. They won’t get another dime from me…
Still gonna buy the peltor adapters, sucks but theyre the only player in that market that Im aware of.
Only if you have a Team Wendy rail on their helmet. If you have ARC rails you can buy from Ops Core or Peltor/3M. If you have Crye or Revision they sell their own adapters.
