Hello ! New old guy here!

Hello everyone.

In my quest for knowledge, I stumbled upon this forum. Looks like a wealth of information!

I’ve only recently gotten back “into” AR15 style rifles after a long hiatus. Here is what pulled me back:

LWRC M6A2

Is this the correct forum area for this?

I’ve ordered an Aimpoint ML2 for it, and I’m searching for a good deal on ammo.

Anyway, great forum!

Nice looking rifle, rdnzl - and I’m glad I’m not the only reborn old fart.
The technology has certainly changed over the last 10-15 years!

Welcome to the forum. Be prepared to never go to different forum again, you’ll like it alot here:)

I’m 55 going on 21.

My ex wife said I’d never grow up. I think she was right…that biatch!!!

My last foray into AR’s was back about 1995. And your right, there certainly has been more then a few advances in technology since then.

I’m 53 and new to the forum too. Not growing up and not growing old are two different things.
Nice rifle!

I’m in the same boat. Alot HAS changed with ARs and the 1911 too. I saw it all coming. I don’t NEED things like full rails and pistons so I avoid them. But what does NEED have to do with? To each his own. I do smile upon noticing the rush of many to lighten up their rifles after loading them down.

No old farts here. 50 is the new 40.

BCM 14.5" mid-length AAC Blackout.

Welcome , this is the right place to learn about the AR. There’s been an explosion in US experience & knowledge in the AR family (especially the Carbine sub-species ) since 9/11.
The sticky info here is great and the search feature can answer many questions and help to shape others.

Is it deja vu or have I seen this post somewhere? I’m new to this forum, too…as well as the other one.

Anyway, all kinds of great information here.

Which post?

Before I found this place, I posted about this rifle on another forum.

oh yeah, sorry about that. I should’ve quoted the OP’s post.

Clarification is a sovereign remedy for confusion.

Beautiful Dog. Here is a pic of my lil one.

I am new here as well. The help and knowledge has been a huge benefit in assisting me to choose my first AR wisely. (picking up my new DDXV this afternoon). And here it is, fresh out of the bag:

Thank everyone for being so helpful and upfront.

Good eye for dogs TNT 1106. He’s the real deal, as is yours. Great looking pup.

thanks, not to derail, but my pup seems to be off duty more than on duties most days…

Your not an “old guy”! Welcome. I have learned so much from this forum. Nice rifle.

Nice shepherd. King of breeds. Get him or her working. They love a job.

I’ll be 65 in a few days. Good knowledge base on this forum, esp. with the AR’s.
Danged bunch o’ young whipper snappers!
If I ever get to old or stubborn to learn I’d just as soon have 'em go ahead and throw the dirt on me. Keep an open mind, always.

Anyone know what type of muzzle break this is? I’d not seen one until I got this rifle.

Another old guy here - 62 and I built my first AR last year. Well not my first, Uncle Sam loaned me an M16 in 'Nam! :stuck_out_tongue:
