Today the Supreme Court should announce their decision on a critical RKBA case.
The 2007-2008 Supreme Court session ends today (June 23rd) so in all likelihood, before the sun sets, we will be celebrating or loading up on ammo and guns as we brace for some of the harshest gun bans we’ve ever seen
This blogger thinks the decision will be written by Scalia. If it is, than Katy bar the door as the worm is about to turn. Scalia writing the decision would be the best possible outcome for gun owners. Hopefully they find it an individual right, that they apply strict scrutiny standard and incorporate it under the 14th amendment.
SCOTUS has lots of priorities, and they know this case will absolutely overwhelm their entire branch of government when it’s announced. As such, they’re waiting until everything else is said and done before opening the floodgates.
I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that it’s 6-3 instead of 5-4. I can actually see six or even seven of the justices coming out in limited fashion to agree that it’s an individual right, and then having the real meat of the decision (what constitutes “reasonable limitations”) get torn up by a messy plurality decision.
If the ruling is in our favor on this one will it make harder for anyone (dems) to stick a new AWB? I understand that they are also talking about the limitations as well, if that goes good are we never going to about another AWB?
