Heinie fixed rear sight for the SA Range Officer

Here are a couple of photos of the new Heinie “Ledge” rear sight for the SA Range Officer.

The sight fits the stock Ranger Officer slide cut with little or no fitting, are one piece, and come in plain black for use with the stock front sight, or as a set with Heinie’s “Straight 8” tritium inserts.
Cost is yet to be set, and should be available in January of 2014.

Seems the best option yet for replacing a lpa sight. Very cool, thanks for sharing!

Nice, but I would not consider it an improvement over the Harrison. Rather a nice alternative.

That will be 2 good options, 10-8 is working on a rear sight for the range officer also…

That’s cool.

One of these days gun makers will wake up and quit putting junky adjustable sights on pistols.

I like it rock solid, and looks great.

I’ve got that rear sight on one of mine and I love it.

Im in for one…

The Range Officer should have come with a BoMar adjustable rear sight.

Is there any plan to make this sight with a u-notch option? I’m really liking the u-notch Harrison I just installed on my RO.

Great choice on the Heinie’s. The original and still the best.

Ordered a plain rear today for my RO. Once I verify front sight height Ill order a front night sight.

Sadly BoMar has been out of business for several years and what’s even more sad is it seems a large majority of the current adjustable sights are made in China.

Looks good. I prefer the Heinie Straight Eight Night Sight to the tradition three dot night sights. With the Heinie you just dot the dot which is simpler for me. I’ll have pass this thread on to a friend who has a RO.

May have to eventually get one for my Colt SCG.

Heinie…The original and still the best. Everything else is just a poor copy.

Any update on availability?

I emailed Heine and asked that same question. I got this response Tue.

"The sights are not shipping yet. We have some off getting the melonite finish on them now. That process usually takes about 2-3 weeks.

Thank you."

good, thanks.
