DENVER (KDVR) — A man who was found dead inside the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park was heavily armed and wearing body armor.
According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday morning, deputies were notified of a man who was found dead inside the park. His body was discovered prior to the park’s opening, and deputies said it was not related to any of the rides.
The man illegally entered the park after hours when no employees or guests were around, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies continued their investigation over the weekend and identified the man as a 22-year-old from the Carbondale area.
The man was found dressed in black-colored tactical clothing, bearing patches and emblems that gave the appearance of someone with law enforcement. He was also heavily armed with a semi-automatic rifle, semi-automatic handgun and multiple loaded magazines. He was also wearing body armor and a ballistic helmet, according to the sheriff’s office.
The man also had multiple improvised explosive devices with him and inside his vehicle.
Following the investigation, several members of the bomb squad swept the grounds of the adventure park to ensure no other explosive devices were planted around the park or rides.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation found no members of the public were at risk.
There has been no further information on how the man died.
I mean crazy is is crazy does, but was he waiting for the Monday morning rush crowded at the park to shoot it up.? I guess he got cold and literally got cold feet and ended up shooting himself?
The tin foil in me thinks this guy had a moment of clarity where he was able to pull himself out of the programming just long enough to scroll “I am not a killer” on the wall and kill himself before he lost control. His handler must be pissed.
If he changed his mind and decided to off himself before doing terrible things, then hats off to him. If more like him would off themselves prior to doing terrible things, that would be swell. Ultimately I’d wish more such men could get the help they need to redirect their energies and such, but offing themselves first vs after doing terrible things is preferable. Copycats will be higher on this one as they made a celebrity out of the last guy as they care far more about ratings vs public safety.
I still think a lot of these mass shooters are driven by the drugs that we give them. The known side effect is suicide, and in an extremely small fraction of people who take them, they decide to take other people with them first. Matt Walsh had a segment on this earlier this week.
Yeah, I bet he had to sit through a long AAR with management in some windowless conference room at the CIA over his failure here. They’ll put him on a PIP and get him back on Discord as soon as possible, though…Can’t lose the momentum.
Glad it isn’t just me that went there mentally. I was thinking more along the line of, his handler was told to abort the operation so had no choice but to the off the dude.
If women’s public restrooms are still like the ones I saw while working in stores of the late 80’s/early 90’s he could have got so tangled up in all the toilet paper and other debris he had an AD or just gave up and committed suicide.
If our GOV and others were working on mind control back in the 60s, I find it hard to believe they just one day said “let’s not do this anymore”. Tin foil hat in me thinks they have it nearly, if not perfected.
