I’m a LEO & just got back from our mandatory inservice. Second half was done by the bomb squad. That had lots of interesting things to tell us & I’m passing that info on to you folks.
First thing they told us was that in the last 30 day, 4 Iraqi were caught trying to sneak into the US from mexico. Last year 17 Iraqis were caught over the course of the year trying to sneak in from mexico. That just Iraqis, there were other middle easterners caught as well.
They also had a video that a British reporter did when he was invited to an alqueda “graduation party” for 300 suicide bombers. The bombers were going to US, England, Germany, France, & a couple other countries. The bomber he interviewed spoke English & was heading to England. The video was filmed in June of '07 which means they are here.
The final thing is that they expect the next terrorist attack but be like the Tet Offensive. Multiple strikes all over the US from coast to coast. They expect them to hit schools, malls, & churches first & then a couple hours later they would hit the hospitals. This way all the care givers(docs, nurses, ems) would be killed & injured as well as all the injured people & their families. With all the hospitals out of commission there will be no one to take care of all the injured. The military would be spread thin all over the country & there would be a complete break down in all local government. To back this theory up we have had over 3 seperate hospitals report middle eastern people videotaping the hospitals both inside & outside.
If you don’t have a plan now is the time to sit down & draw one up. Sit down with your family & decide what you are going to do if there is an attack. Are you going to meet up at home, work, kids schools, etc.? Time to put back extra food if you haven’t already done so. What about cash? I guarantee if there is a large attack banks will shut down. Communication is anothe area. We’ve had several tornadoes the last several years & each time cell phones as well as land lines were overloaded so people couldn’t talk to each other. You need to have pre-set meeting spots. Lots of what ifs.
The wife & I sat down & talked about what we are going to do if there is an attack. She is a paramedic & I’m a cop so there’s a good possibility one or both of us will be at work so we need to know what to do about meeting up. We also have a 8 month old son so we had to tell care givers what to do as well where he is concerned.
Good on you Blitzking for the heads-up, but I would like to add my .02, in hopes that this thread does not get into an OPSEC issue.
While it may sound silly, debriefings from terrorist actions that I have been involved in, often indicate that some of the ideas came from publically available AARs and prevention discussion, to wit:

Above all, we must make sure that this or that is protected, a strike against this or that would further cripple our ability to respond
That all sounds a little stretched to me. I can see how that would be an optimal scenario for them, but something that big would likely be picked up in surveillance somewhere. Too many players, many stupid beyond belief. Remember that the 9/11 scum did a lot to raise eyebrows before the attacks, but we just did not imagine it could happen like that and communication between agencies was flawed or non-existent.
I agree, I certainly think they could have success in one or two cities/towns at a time, therefore sure it’s a good thing to be ready. I need to be ready living 20 minutes from Philadelphia, as anything happens there or Camden or on the Delaware in between we will be flooded in the suburbs with many unpleasant, desperate people. It’s just them completely disabling America on the inside would seem very unlikely (but possible).

interesting, my dept. likes to keep us deaf -dumb - and blind . i have heard about the people they have been catching coming across . makes you think about the people they’re not catching . the TET scenario also is a very plausible avenue of attack . how many depts and truly prepared and equipped to handle multiple attacks ? thats thinking outside the box - sortta like crashing planes into a few buildings
I agree that if this is getting posted in many places is a bit odd. Who is to say that the original person or persons who leaked this info to the correct source isnt one of “them”, and I mean "them’ by saying a terrorist or just a group or individual trying to stir up our shit. I do believe that this is plauseable but not on a large scale. I feel that if something like this were to happen it would throw the nation as a whole on alert and a lot of the secondary attacks would be prevented by Law Enforcement and vigalant citizens who are “sheep dogs” and not just part of the bumbling “herd”.
Not trying to negate your intel, but this sounds a lot like an internet story/chain mail that was wide spread about a imminent Christmas mall bombing two years ago, warning that some woman got a letter from her boy friend (Middle eastern decent) to not go to any mall during x-mas because he was in a cell that was going to target several malls around the country over the holidays. I got 4 or 5 of them in the month of November from friends thinking the attack was imminent.
They may have caught middle eastern folks in the mix of our immigration problem, but seems too unlikely. Sorta like the internet chain mail about Obama being a Muslim with sinister plans on taking over the country for the sake and benefit of Islam, etc…but it doesn’t hurt to do contingency planning with family and friends like we do here in FL with our SHTF/Hurricane scenarios.

one such individual was caught south of me in a small Ohio town in possession of all kindsa evil it made the local Paper for one day.Never another thing was said about it not in the newspaper nothing… Reason is the fed’s don’t want to alert other cell members until Achmed gets a proper waterboarding and spills all he knows.Its simple and effective and keeps all of the liberals happy bitching about how unjust the war is while sipping their starbucks…
Just the mention of that incident makes my blood boil. If that ever happens here I say we make both Afghanistan and Iraq permanent United States territories, then expel any and all hostile/questionable citizens to Iran. Then we target them for total submission, or Israel and the U.S. make them the extinct peoples they threaten to make the Israelis. That would be just the beginning of the necessary permanent, effective statement that needs to be made so that we can feel safe from terrorism again.
A version of Belsan in the U.S. should draw a response 10 times that of 9/11 in my humble opinion.
Thanks to our local LEOs there are several thousands of ‘contacts’ each week in the US CONUS with names on the watch list. Many are first time mentions which means the national systems didnt have them until a local came into contact with them. There is alot of good work going on with people every day.
I don’t know about the resit of the claims but there were two persons from iraq intercepted in Monterrey within the last month or so. Both had fake passports and were enroute to the US.

Without violating OpSec the number of bearded men with bad breath wearing man dresses that were caught coming across the border is much higher than what is posted above. Again, be aware esp. in military communities.
