Ok so I’m new to the AR15 game and recently picked up my first. I thought irons would be fine for now but I ran across a used trijicon tripower and picked it up. At the time of purchase the store wasn’t lit very well and the batteries were dead but I purchased it anyway. Maybe a huge mistake on my part… anyway I purchased new batteries and found out that the chevron is angled half past one o’clock. I wasn’t too worried because I thought trijicon had a lifetime warranty. Got on the website and it’s only for the original owner. So I’m needing help and opinions please. Trijicon says if i send it in the charges start at 100 dollars. I have no idea what to do. You think that a scope should work unless it’s been beat to hell and I’m a little iffy about a company who doesn’t seem to fully stand behind their products. Should I ditch the piece and buy something quality or should I send it in and spend money hoping it doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg? Right now I haven’t really tried the scope in high light but the fiber optic doesn’t seem to light the chevron on it’s own. The battery works the optic and if I shine a flashlight towards the fiber it works. I’m not sure if this thing is supposed to be bright in a normally lit room. I know, I know, I should really check things out before I purchase used but I’m no newbie with scopes or guns. I’ve purchased my fare share of used optics and guns and have yet to own a lemon. This is my first shot at a red dot and I guess I should have done more research. Happy to hear opinions. I tried to find an owners manual on trijicons website but it’s not working. any pointers would be great. thanks!
My Tripower has been given the “Aimpoint QD Gravel Treatment”, and is holding up extremely well.
Basically, the fibre-optic works outdoors during daylight, and the batteries are for interior/nighttime uses.
The tritium is configured to work with NOD rather than eyeballs.
