Handl Defense has some pics of their short and long CF hand guards up on their FB page. The short is designed to work with the QD suppressors in the MK.17 kit and a short barrel. The long is designed for those that want an SSR type or 3 gun type of set up.
I worked on both of these and have time under all 3 of their CF rails. These changed my mind on CF rails for guns. I hope this post was helpful.
Thanks for the heads up. I am pretty excited for these handguards. Do you have any idea on the costs? Do you know anything about when they will ship? How about compatibility with my AAC?
Just like in the automotive industry, there are reasons why carbon fiber is used, lightweight, strong, and durable… but you’re going to pay extra for it.
I assume the paint is the exact same that is on the lower. It looks like the same color. Do they not have pics on their website? It has to meet certain decontamination standards which the lower has already done. So it would make sense to have the exact same paint.
I only saw pics of the black CF and no option to change color when adding to cart. I’ll wait and see, either way looks like the best option out there for SCAR in this category in my opinion.
I was looking on the Handl website at the installation instructions of the CF rail.
On assembly of the rifle they are saying to tighten the 4 torx barrel screws to 26 in-lb and don’t mention a torque pattern or sequence. Everything I’ve found for installing the barrel is 62 in-lb and in a proper sequence. There is also a couple posts in the SCAR Tips Sticky of proper torque procedure and accuracy issues.
What’s up with the different torque specs and why no mention of tightening sequence?
