Hammer pin rotation in S&W M&P 15-22

I picked up a 15-22 a month or so ago. I have ran about 300 rounds through it, no problems and more fun than I had hoped. But I have noticed a possible problem. I switched to gissele ssa and while it feels great, the hammer pin is rotating. I have installed many FCG’s and never had this problem. As I discovered while function testing and dry fire, I removed it as I don’t think metal rolling in a plastic hole would be good for the tolerance. So what is it? I tried a seach but came up empty(I was using my iPhone and I’m almost computer illiterate, so take that for what it’s worth, no computer for a while), so with this info…

Almost forgot, when dry firing the ssa, the bolt would not close all the way most if the time when racking back. A slight tap and it would seat. With the old FCG, again no problems, runs fine.

Is this normal for the plastic lower? Should I send it back? Put kns anti rotation pins on?

Anyone who has had this problem, or knows a certain fix, please chime in.

ETA: mods please move this to AR GD. Wrong area

It’s completely normal for the pins to rotate and is a non-issue, wether or not this could be an issue with a polymer lower, I don’t know.

Pins can rotate, but this was excessive. Almost over half.

That’s a lot of trigger for that carbine! I bet it feels good. Mine shipped with a decent trigger and I’m still running it that way. I believe there are a few threads regarding pin rotation on the S&W M&P forum, if you can get past the prevailing attitude they seem to have over there.

It’s not a bad trigger, I admit. But just wanted feedback. Is it the ssa on the lower, etc…

Will check the S&W forum. Thank you.

Will most likely run the original FCG.

I would call Bill Geissele first. He’ll talk to you on the phone just like he’s the tech! honestly

Thank you kokopelli. Will do.
