Halo v G5 v M42000

Am wanting to add to my stamp collection and am looking at these cans. Would be used primarily on my 11.5" and my 16" rifles.
Like the idea of the Halo being able to mount to most 22mm muzzle attachments as well as being able to adapt it to my 106FR and my upcoming Bulgy 5.45 krink. However, that would just be gravy and not a neccessity.
So what do you guys think of these three and are there any others I should consider.
The use will be semi only.

This has been discussed a couple of times in at least two other recent threads, but I’ll post my same reply.

The m4-2000 is the superior can in construction.

For the price of the G5, you should be getting a fully welded can… But you aren’t.

For the small price diff between the G5 and the M4-2000, there’s no way I could justify the G5 for my collection.

Of those two I would get the M42k. I would also look closely at the SF 556K.

I have an M42K07 and it is a good can. I know you didn’t list them, but if I had it to do over, I would probably either go with the Surefire or Knights.

Well cost wise I’m looking at under $900 so I figured that left out KAC and Surefire.

M4-1000.

I shot a Halo today. It won’t fit on a vortex FH so if you have a 14.5 Noveske bbl with a pinned vortex it no workee. It also won’t fit on a Sig 556 even if you switch out the oem FH with an A2 FH. The bbl dia is too thick. It mounted fine on a Denny’s Warrior bbl with an A2 and a 10.5 HK 416. No baffle strikes and no problems with weapons that could use it. It is not as universal as I had hoped. I think the next one that try out will be the G5.

I don’t know the sale price, but you may want to query a respectable dealer with whom you have good previous history.

I was in the same position as you awhile back. I ended up going with an AAC M4-2K mod 07, as it seems to be the proven superior can.

Look around for deals. You might not get a deal on a can the dealer has in stock, but if you’re willing to wait awhile, he might order one for you for less of a markup.

I too have been considering a can:D really like what I’ve seen on the Surefire 556K, but cost seem to be around $1200, and the M42K gets a pretty good rep from those who have them and I’d save a good deal going with the AAC…If the Gemtech worked with a Vortex, I’d probably go that way just because I have the vortex on two of my ARs
