Any word if H&K will release a VP9 comparable to a G19?
No,But if they do come out with a G19 sized compact that uses P-2000 mags, I think they’ll generate alot of interest…
I read on another forum they are ceasing production of any VP9, VP40 and some others until 2016, although I’m not sure if true
I read that they have a problem regarding import points with a compact.
They’d stomp a mud hole in Glock if they would keep everything the same and just chop the grip to take P2000 mags.
How so, when they’ve been importing USP-C, P2000, P2000SK for years?
If true, domestic production, like their HK45 series.
Originally, the official order was:
VP9, VP40, then VP45. After all those, they were going to start over doing compacts. How big the compacts will be is a subject of debate. Like Ralph, I hope for a P2000/G19 size gun. Others have hinted at “SK” size to complement the P2000SK, P30SK and compete with the G26
The VP9 was released last summer, the VP40 was roughly 10-11 months later. Following that pattern, it will likely be 18-24 months before we see a “VP9C” or “VP9SK”. Personally, I think that’s why we saw the P30SK when we did…to have a stronger sub-compact offering to compete in the market until the VP variant can be launched in case it takes a while.
I thought the P30SK was released when it was because it was developed for a police contract.
Does anyone know why the P2000s have gotten so cheap?
You can get a regular 9mm V3 P200 for $615 shipped. At that price it makes a Glock 19 look pretty shabby…
That’s the SA/DA variant. The V2 LEM’s are around $680, which isn’t bad, but they’re not as easy to find.
I would buy a VP9c or VP9sk in a New York minute.

Pretty sure that’s true of all HK products that make it to the market, potential contract > develop product > fulfill contract > sell publicly
Compact VP9 will be a great addition for H&K!! They put out the P30SK, magazines are ready to roll already.
I’m willing to bet they have alot of cool R&D stuff sitting on shelves just because.
Isn’t a G19 and a VP9 roughly the same size already?
VP9 is almost the exact same size as the 17.
