H Buffer & Wolff extra power buffer spring Question.

I was swapping stocks out on my 6721 and the only extra buffer spring I had on hand was a Wolff extra power. Do you guys think I will run into any issues running it with a H buffer? This is in a older Colt with the half moon bolt carrier. I put around 50 rounds through it today with no issue but was wondering what the consensus is.

Sounds like a good combination to me.

Why would you have an extra power action spring at all?

I’m somewhat fannatical about running Factory Colt Stainless steel action springs. This way if you do run into function issues, you know it’s not the spring.

The Colt was a police trade in and had a A2 Stock it when I bought it. I swapped that out for a RR shortly tactical entry stock but really did not like it all that much. I ended up trading that for a bushmaster Stock & buffer tube and the hardware minus a buffer spring or buffer. I had The Wolff spring and an extra H buffer in my parts bin so I used those. I would not mind switching it our for Colt parts would Brownells be the best source?

I would take the BM stuff off and get a good stock from BCM.

.

Never had any luck running a extra power action spring. Tried one in a few lowers with different buffers, never found it helpful to any combination.
A guy had given it to me (that should have been a clue!) in a parts deal, as he was going back to rifle stock/spring/buffers.
I’ve found, get the gas port right for the application and everything else works great.

Heavier buffer good.

Extra power spring bad. Define why you need one.

I bought one a while ago to try out and never used it and it was the only carbine length buffer spring I had available last week  . I just ordered the BCM M4 Stock Kit. For $65 dollars it is hard to beat.

ooooops

went full autoo on me

b.l.

xtra power buffer spring bad

h2 buffer good

if the factory designed the rifle they should know what spring to run.’
the buffer controls reliability and function in 10-1/2 " barrels ( i have 5) so i use it in all of them. put in all the rest of my ar’s (7-8 -14.5 &16") just because i could. also improves reliability on crappy ammo.

per grant several years ago, he’s never been wrong yet. between him, lynn freshly and t.d.l. its seldom a question cant be answered.
