I currently have an H-1 on my AR. I guess I shoulda done a little more research before I picked it up (always planned on getting a magnifier for it, down the road), but now I’m looking at the Trijicon line of Accupoints.
First, I guess, what is the real difference between 1.25-1.4? I know its about .15, but what does that mean for sight picture? (Reading this again, seems like a stupid question, as I should probaby look through a few to see the difference) I ask because the 1.4 is a 30mm, and the 1.25 is 1". I’m assuming the H-1 is 30mm…
Is it worth it? I’m not super concerned about weight (again, I’ll probably be switching to a lighter rail… look for my Larue 12.0 for sale soon!) but I would like to have a little magnification. My eyes are terrible (I wear glasses) and sometimes a little quick magnification would be nice.
The H-1 does not have a tube size and uses four screws on the bottom to attach it to a mount.
The TR24 has a 30mm tube and thus would require 30mm rings. It is a 1-4x scope, so I don’t know where you are coming up with 1.4.
The H-1 has unlimited eye relief and virtually no parallax error, so as long as you can see the dot, you can hit what the dot is on. The TR24 is a scope, so it requires a consistent sight picture for it to be accurate. That being said, I would prefer the TR24 because of its 4x capability. I believe the compromises are worth having the magnification.
For me, a red dot (I have a T-1) is still slightly faster than the TR24 at 1X.

As noted in one of my earlier posts today, I’m in the same boat. I’d be willing to trade my h1 and mount straight up for the trij… finding someone who’d be willing to help me out there will be difficult.
Ok I shoot and own 4 TR-24s and several t-1s and eotechs
This is kind of a biased pic thread because your limited to the camera and positions of the optics with the t-1/h-1 using both eyes open there is no FOV issue and the tube becomes a ghost ring
What i do find of interest that with all 3 optics im the same speed on the timer with hits at 5-7 yards for my pairs…user not the tool
It’s actually 1.25x-4x, for the TR21, and 1x-4x for the TR24. So the difference is that the lowest magnification on the TR24 is closer to no magnification than the TR21 (and I’ve found it to be very close to none, only a slight amount is noticeable on very close objects when viewed through the TR24 at 1x).
The TR24 is in every way superior to the TR21. I’ve had both (and still have the -24). Its definitely worth the extra cost when used on an AR application. The savings might be worth it if you were putting the scope on a deer rifle for brush hunting or something like that.

I have bad eyes too and really appreciate the 4x if I need to shoot at any distance.
At 1x with both eyes open, I find the tube on the TR24 actually less visible than a standard Aimpoint tube (ML2). I haven’t spent enough time on a H1/T1 to compare directly, but it’s probably a little better.
Still, even though I love my TR24 and find it very fast even up close, if I planned on using it indoors in low light with a white light, like for home defense, I’d still prefer the Aimpoint.
