Today around noon, a man entered the Democratic Party office in Little Rock. He asked to see the Chairman, Bill Gwatney, about volunteer opportunities. He then forced his way into Gwatney’s office and shot him three times.
The gunman fled south out of the city was later apprehended. Sometime during the chase he caught a round and later died. It’s not yet known if his wound was self-inflicted.
edit: News reports now confirm the gunman was fatally wounded by LEO. When he was finally forced to stop his vehicle, he shot at Arkansas State Troopers and they returned fire. The suspect was airlifted to a Little Rock hospital and was 10-7 on arrival.
It’s rather curious but it seems as if these incidents happen and really get publicized around election time. And if I recall correctly shortly before the 1994 AWB there were some incidents that the media and the Brady Gang used to highlight the importance of the ban and gun control in general.
I know this is going to sound “tin foil hat’ish” but it really makes one wonder if this sort of thing is planned purposely to sway public opinion about guns, “assault weapons” in particular…
