Do you have “that gun” or “that manufacturer” that you like? Have you ended up with an unnecessary number of the same type of gun?
I like Walthers. After a .22 Buckmark Lite URX (great trigger), the Walther PPQ M2 9mm was my second handgun. I had shot a friend’s years earlier, and after trying Glocks, M&P, and HK, the PPQ was the clear winner for me.
Ten years later, I have…
4” PPQ M2 9mm
5” PPQ M2 9mm
3.5” PPQ M2 SC 9mm
4.6” Q4 Tac 9mm
4.6” PDP Pro SD + Q5 Conversion Kit
4.6” PPQ M2 Navy 9mm slide/barrel (usually on the 5”’s frame)
4” PPQ M2 .22
4” PPQ M1 9mm
Magnum Research MR9 (P99 clone)
PPS M2 LE
I even had a B&T USW conversion kit for the PPQ for a bit, but it was trash.
My goal was to have one handgun to handoff go kids some day… That was the excuse.
If I go to the range now, I grab the Pro SD/Q5 with an SRO or the original with iron sights.
Beretta .25’s Several
Beretta Cheetah .32’s Several
S&W M&P 2.0 .45 acp Several
Ruger .32, .357, .44 revolvers, different models, Several
Ruger Mini-14’s, Several
I have a couple HKs and some from other manufacturers, but the one that I have multiples of the same model would be Glock (G19s, G17s, G26s, G45s, G21s and G30s).
That’s how my gun collection started out. I shot a P30L, loved it and bought one. ended up with 7 HK’s. Shot a Glock 19X, loved it and bought 2, ended up with 16 Glocks. After having AK’s for years, I built an ar15, and decided i needed 2 dozen plus a dozen stripped lowers.
My last kick was lever actions. I found a clearance henry 22lr at Walmart for 59 bucks. discovered i liked levers, ended up with 7.
Once I start with one maker or type, I normally get a half dozen more of the same brand/type.
I am also not the type to sell, so I only collect. That’s why I have so many. So add WWII stuff, milsurps, classic hunting rifles and c&r stuff and your are well over 100 firearms.
