Holy crap, did the barrel just split in 2 ?? Wow, what the hell would make it do that? Some kind of obstruction or something else?
s.m.
Can you say bore obstruction or possibly a super hot load?
WHOOOAAAHHH!!! Looks like bore obstruction to me… ![]()
And the camera guy kept pointed at the gun throughout the entire thing, even afterwards when he (or someone else) was trying to find out if the shooter was hurt?
Hrmmm …
IIRC, the guy was out hunting and either because he slipped or something ended up lawn-darting his rifle barrel first. He then went to shoot his trophy and KABOOM.
Same here. You can see where a piece fell out of the barrel after it did its banana thing.
If it was a hot load, the receiver would probably have shown some indication of it.
what john_wayne777 said. Also from the water dripping from the brim of his cap I would say he may have been walking in rain muzzle up and the barrel filled with water.
The one thing that I know is I would not want to be that guy!!
At the start of the video, the barrel was at a downward angle. Looks like he was also shooting at a downward angle later as well.
I think it was a barrel obstruction of some sort.
Wild video wouldn’t want that to happen to me…

This was caused by a bore sighter
My thoughts

We used to use the old 35mm film cases…worked just as good (sometimes with some slight modification with tape to make the diameter a bit smaller) and they were free!
Of course I bet those are collector’s items now what with all the digital stuff out there!
my first thought was that was the compensator.
