What sidearm do you carry, every day, everywhere?
I was a 1911 guy years ago, transitioned to Glocks in '06, and have been a G17 & G19 guy over the last several years.
For 2-3 years now, it’s been a purpose-built G19, a G19H I call it.
H is for hybrid…G23 frame w/ 9mm Ejector, OEM G19 barrel, Brownells windowed RMR cut G19 slide, Swampfox Justice optic.
What’s your primary sidearm?
Boring old Gen 3 Glock 19 with MMC adjustable sights (MMC long gone). Although with the advent and curse of work from home, I don’t feel like I go much of anywhere these days…
Spent so much time on it I don’t feel confident on any of the other guns I’ve collected over the years (Classic Sig P22?'s, P365, PX4, Staccato, Beretta, Multiple HK’s). While I enjoy shooting everything else, I always return to the G19 with irons. I know it’s wrong but it doesn’t feel that way. Need an optics class to change with the times.
P365 X Macro Tacops with TLR-7- sub and an EPS Carry. Ive done the 1911 thing, carried a G19 for a very long time but the macro, for me, is a better gun.
I’ll carry a J frame with a speed strip of 5 for those spicy summer days but 98% of the time its the macro.
I’ve tried a variety of things, but often run a G19.5 with 10-8 sights. Simple but capable setup.
Stock G22.5 with Holosun SCS MOS direct mount in a Upperhand holster. Filled with Ranger T 180 gr.
I carry a Glock 26 most of the time in a Vedder Lighttuck IWB holster.
Other times it is a Glock 45 or a Glock 19, but always with an additional 17 rounds magazine.
My current EDC is a G43x COA in a Vedder light tuck. Before that a plain jane G43x that I ended up giving to my son. Before that it was a G30 for 25+ years.
I don’t. NC doesn’t require employers to allow weapons in a personal vehicle.
But outside of that, I carry a Colonel blade most of the time. Occasionally a P365 in an Enigma.
G19 everyday except on vacation. Then I carry a G19, G48/43, G42, or snubbie.
G17 with a holosun in a vedder pro tuck, SW model 13 in a custom grizzle leather town and country, G26 in a galco ankle glove, SW 642 in a pocket.

SIG 229 SAO, Mitch Rosen leather, at least a single spare mag. Cheap Kershaw because I’m hard on my knives. Streamlight ProTac.
Sometimes I still pack the Micro Compact 1911 (2 spares). Occasionally SP101 with a couple strippers, otherwise the wheelgun pretty much lives in my truck.
All this with the caveat that I work almost exclusively on federal installations, where I ain’t allowed to carry any of it. So “most days” I run around nekkid, but not by choice.
Nice, love the old school stuff. Before kydex took over the world I used Mitch Rosen and Milt Sparks holsters.
I’ve been carrying a Walther PPS M2 for about five years now. It’s small enough that I’ll carry it everywhere, yet big enough that I can get a good grip on it.
3rd gen G20 in kydex. Before that, a Colt Officers ACP.
Same old boring 5" plain-jane iron-sights 1911 that’s been with me almost every day of my adult life. The muscle memory is built, I’m used to it, it’s known and proven with no learning-curve left. Twenty years is a lot to unlearn… lol
I wish they made that in 40 cal. But it would wreck my finances if they did.
I carried a 1911 for years (sometimes 2 at a time…along with soft armor, on those 3:00am downtown Tacoma calls, HA!), and honestly hadn’t intended to transition.
But got the first Glock (G23), spent a couple months training up with it, carrying it…went back to the 5" Kimber, and damn it was heavy!
Plus, not having to fight the daily rust battle every summer…having so many more rounds onboard…no safety to mess with…I just couldn’t help it.
Said 15 Hail Coopers and moved on into Dark Territory.
Have in the years since had the guns in conditions that made me glad I was rocking the Glocks…so tough & simple to maintain.
I tried Glocks and they just didn’t fit me right, grip angle. A Beretta is too shallow and physically HURTS my hand to hold nevermind fire, a flat-MSH 1911 is “not quite right but usably close” and a singlestack Glock while not painful is too far the opposite direction from the Beretta for me to shoot well. Doublestacks I just can’t fit my mitts around regardless of platform, the closest for me was a Para or Springfield DS that had had its grip panels completely removed and there’s no way I would consider shooting it that way without also removing the escutcheons for the grip screws.
We each have our own Goldilocks Zones; I’ve known some shooters who were natural for Beretta and others for Glock, and as I always say “guns are like thong underwear, one size most assuredly DOES NOT fit all!” LOL
1911’s for work and in the Military. Good to go for me, I bought one years ago and turned it into a BBQ Gun.
Beretta was just odd to me, useable but I would never purchase one.
It took about 2 magazines through a G17 to make me a believer.
I have an HK and it’s a nice gun, but I still prefer the G17.
