Greenhorn with a beefy rifle

Hello all, new to these forums and the rifle world. My interest in guns started with pistols, particularly the 1911. So this is my first rifle. It is the BCM m4 carbine. Probably seems like overkill for a beginner but I wanted something that would be my #1, be it now or later.

Can’t tell you enough how proud I am of this purchase. I have yet to take her to the range. Alright, enough chatter, time for photos. Any tips and advice are welcome and go easy on a guy lol.

Very nice rifle, great choice.

Good job on buying a quality rifle out of the box.

Now, get some FireClean or some slip 2000 ewl and keep it wet. Enjoy your new boomstick.

Optics can wait but this would be my starting point.
5-10 quality magazine’s, 1000-2000 rnds. Competent instructor on it. Zero it and go. Then if in budget a Aimpoint Pro. Great choice on rifle know quality. Better to go top of line one time than buying 2nd to get it right.

But I’m thinking you already knew that… Being a 1911 fan you know what you need to learn and where to find it. You found M-4carbine.net

Welcome aboard, and great choice for a rifle. Be warned, there is such things as “black rifle disease” I started out with one many years ago, they seem to have reproduced.

Magazines and ammo are what you need the most of. It is easy to burn through ammo as fast as you can feed it. The main thing is… Enjoy that new rifle. Have fun and good shooting.
