I was scheduled to attend the Vickers class this weekend and was planning on taking my Colt 6933 and my LWRC 10.5. Then, I remembered about 2 1/2 weeks ago that I had not filed my 5320.20!
Quickly I put it together and faxed it off to West Virgina. As we got closer to the date I began to get worried, but figured worst case I would take my 6920 instead.
Well, fate intervened and in the meantime my wife’s degenerative disk worsened to the point that she started loosing sensation in her upper thigh due to a bony spur on her disk inpenging on her spinal cord. Not good, though it did make a good party joke to see her stick herself in the thigh with a straight pin and not feel anything. So we had a successful surgery yesterday and are recovering in the hospital this weekend. Obviously, no trip.
This morning, while in her hospital room I received a call on my cell phone from “Albert with the ATF”. He told me that he had just approved my 5320.20 and saw the date it was to start, August 1st, and wanted to call me so that I could have it before traveling.
He then faxed it to me directly and told me to have a good trip. Well, I can’t leave her but I darn well appreciate him doing that. He certainly did not have to do that and I wanted to give them kudos for what was excellent customer service!
