Why 9mm and not 40? For 3-gun tac optics it doesn’t matter, right- but for steel challenge is there minor and major?

In steel challenge there is no power factor. I already have a Dawson tuned Edge in .40 that was my first race pistol. It works well but is not as pretty as this one.
Here is the .40
I am going to use my Double Alpha holster with it and use the same belt I run for open with my Steel master.
As for paying for it I sold an AK all the mags I had, a Noveske AR and a lot of mags and that funded this and a JP upper.
