GoPro...what do you do with it?

Got one of these as a gift. No idea what to do with it.

Considered mounting it in the car because all kinds of craziness happens in front of my car during my commute. But I learned there are better, specific devices for that.

So…I don’t know what else to do with it. They seem to be very popular. Is everyone skydiving, scuba diving, mounting it on pets and skateboards or what? I read a few articles about what to do with them and frankly most were stupid. Put it on time lapse to observe traffic in certain rooms in my house? Mount it inside the dishwasher? What? It seems to me like this device is more a marketing success and about as useful to the average person as a rubber ball strung to a paddle.

So before I just sell it NIB I thought I’d get some ideas about what to do with it. Anyone?

If you’re posting this question on a public forum… Save yourself the time and just sell it and buy some ammo

Get a go pro rail mount so you can mount it to your rifle. Or give it to me. I will do… Something with it. I think.

That’s the very first thing I thought of doing with it!

Our first reaction is usually the correct one

POV home made sex tapes.

:sarcastic:

I was thinking something along those lines . . .

It’s a great tool if video is a hobby of yours. I have a couple of GoPros, wide variety of mounting hardware and have a blast shooting from cars, dirt bikes, mountain bikes, snowmobiles…probably every item of rolling stock I own, even the John Deere, and then there’s the drone… And yeah, I have mounts for my ARs.

OTOH, if video capture and editing isn’t your thing…don’t enjoy it, not a hobby…sell the GoPro and get something you need or want.

We use ours to film all kinds of outdoor activities. We hook them to our motorcycle and snowmobile helmets, we send them down our fishing lines to film porpoises and halibut, we mount them on rifles and handguns. I find video footage to be far more rewarding than still footage… pretty much the same thing as Hmac.

Its not just a marketing success, but a very useful sport/outdoor recording device. Anyone in extreme sports has most likely heard of it and used it.

If you don’t have a use for one or don’t do those types of activities, some of use here can trade you for some mags and ammo

I use it to record myself drag racing and go karting. Have several mounts and place on different locations in and on my car. When karting I use a helmet mount.

Maybe u just need to pick up a hobby that requires the use of a GoPro rather than adapting it to a current one

I use it snorkling (haven’t started scuba yet) swimming, fishing, hunting, and target shooting. It’s very good to use the slow mo for checking grip/for for handgun shooting.

I wear it for uspsa/IDPA so I can see every screw up and fix them.

I also captured a barracuda shore fishing trip in the Keyes on camera. Very cool to have those memories on vid to share and watch. You wouldn’t believe all the cool shit you forget you did until you watch it a couple years later.
