I have a good dry fire sequence but I’m a little lost when it comes to moving to drills.
What is a good 30 round warm up sequence you guys use to get the juices flowing before you start scoring and timing?

Instead of a warmup, I do a cold test. I start with the same test every time and record the results to help gauge progress. You can pick anything you want to do, I just happen to use the FAST because it requires no setup and measures several aspects.
How does one modify the FAST drill for rifle? move to 50 yards and shoot from the ready?
The FAST isn’t really going to do much for you for rifle. The major aspects of the FAST are:
the draw
the grip
the press
first round DA accuracy (For those guns with a DA first shot)
two shot accuracy
slide-lock reload
acquiring a correct grip following a reload
speed on the final 4 with acceptable sight deviation
Few of these skills really carry-over to rifle.
I would be much more inclined to advise people to use the following:
VTAC Half and Half
VTAC 1-5 (at 5,15,and 25 meters)
Stop and Go/X-Drill
Offset Accountability
These drills are detailed in the “Favorite Drills” sticky in Training and Tactics, and offer way more in regard to increasing/exposing rifle skill.
Thanks F2S
I start and end with ten rounds of Bullseye for group, slow fire.
Sorry, bikedoc, had no idea you meant rifle. Saw the words dry fire and immediately thought pistol.
Thats because you’re a good man Vinh ![]()
