Good to see a shootgun section ( not a lot of love a scatter gun here )
I was thinking of a M4 for HD but to much $ $ so I went with a colt le6920
I did not have a AR so it seemed like a good choice.
I have a browning 725 sporter o/u for clays and a 11-87 for hunting .
One day I would still like a M4. ? Maybe settle for a M2 or ?

So what’s your question regarding “shootguns”?

There was a question in the OP’s post??

I couldn’t understand a word in that post.

I think he’s asking if he should settle for a benelli m2 or is there a better choice.
And I am guessing he wants it for HD since he has one for clays and hunting.

Ok is the m2 ok it’s ugly IMO
Is the inside mechanism the same .
Will they both shoot light loads .

Nope the Benelli M4 and M2 are not the same inside. The M4 operates on the ARGO gas system and the M2 operates on the inertia system. I have owned both, I prefer the M2 unless you plan on hanging a bunch of crap off the gun. The M2 is lighter, the M4 is slightly more complicated, and much more expensive. M2 will be better with light loads, but if you follow Benellis instructions, you won’t have a problem with either.

Thank you I’ll save the money and weight .
And keep it simple .

May I add that the M4 does feel more solidly built, but at the expense of a much heavier gun. I like both and could not choose one over the other in terms of build quality. They both will last longer than most people will need…

This forum loves scatterguns, but we just recognize its shortcomings.

12 gauge buckshot penetrates more than 5.56mm 55gr does, it gives you 6 rounds max, and the “ca-chunk” noise isn’t nearly as scary to someone on crystal meth as the gun rags would have you believe.

My M4 holds 9. 7 in the tube, 1 in the chamber and 1 on the carrier. Still, it’s less than 30 and not nearly as handy. I prefer my 10.5" SBR for HD, but if you can’t get it done with 9 rounds of 12 gauge, you probably can’t get it done with 30 of 5.56 either.

The only thing you will hear out of any of my guns is the safety coming off (if equipped) and the boom from the muzzle.

there are plenty of threads about shootguns here…
