Good rifles with mid-length uppers?

I’m new to the AR world, and like many I started with “The Chart.” As I learned more I decided that my ideal AR would have a 16" barrel with a mid-length gas system. It doesn’t appear that all of the manufacturers featured on The Chart actually sell rifles with the mid-length systems… so far, I’ve only seen offerings from Noveske and CMMG (the N4 Light Recce and MedCon Rifle, respectively).

Who else am I missing that makes good rifles with mid-length gas tubes - or is that about it?

A number of companies make them. You’ve already ID’d Noveske. Bravo Company makes an outstanding middy upper. Sabre Defense is a good company, but their prices are a bit high for what they’re offering.

I had mine built by our own gotm4:

I put mine together with some parts I had laying around

What about the 16" LMT MRP CQB? Comparing LMT’s photo of it to their photo of the standard Defender, it looks like the CQB MRP has the mid-length system, although it doesn’t seem to be explicitly stated in the list o’ specs.

The 16" barrel MRP’s are indeed mid-lengths. Shorter barrels run the carbine-length gas system. ADS also makes a decent mid-length (http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=7297). IIRC, Charles Daly has come out with one too.

S&W is expected to have a middy at SHOT next month, too.

I would like to see it, might be a good companion to my 15T.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Bravo middy’s, but it’s like hitting the lotto finding them in stock.

Man, if Smith does a middy with a 1/7 4150 barrel and M4 feed ramps, that would indeed be interesting…

1/8 from what I hear. M4 feed ramps they’re already doing on some models, at least. No idea about the barrel steel.
