I am building a 10.5 inch upper to run with a suppressor. I am looking hard at the DD mk18 RISII rail, being 9.55 inches long, it matches great with minimal gap between suppressor and rail. It seems as though the best option for the ideal match is having a rail that is an inch less than the barrel. I have searched for other companies that make a 9.5 inch rail, and have only come across the Geissele mk4.
Are there any other options?
Depends what can you will be running… Here is a pic of the Geissele MK2 9.5 inch with the M4-2000. It gives you a little more room then the Mk18 at 9.55. I bought a complete Mk18 10.3 inch upper and switched out the handguard with the Geissele because it was a little too close for my liking. It would look good with the 10.5 barrel and the Geiselle 9.5. Also attached is a pic of a 11.5 barrel with a 10inch MK1 for reference. If im not mistaken, you can run more rail with a surefire socom cans. The MK4 has the machined rail sections on the end that you cant remove. I would consider the MK2 or 3 if you can find them. If you go Geissele you wont be dissapointed. Just my .02
Also if your not dead set on the 10.5, I would consider a 11.5 with a 10 inch rail like the new BCM KMR 10 or be able to run the 10 inch Geissele Mk1.
I will be running a silencerco saker. The can doesn’t mount further than the beginning of the threads (start of muzzle brake) It should work. Thanks for the pictures.
I’m in the process of planning a dual stamp build and trying to determine what combination of barrel length and rail length will give you the most sight radius while still allowing for a suppressor is a chore. Not nearly enough pictures floating around like what’s above…
Here is one more. A 11.5 with 9.5 rail. Above I showed a 11.5 with 10 inch rail and a 10.3 with 9.5 rail.
10.3" barrel, 9" Centurion Arms rail

I think a 9.55" would work on a 10.5" barrel.
Mk4 9.5" rail, 10.5" LMT barrel, Ranger 2 direct thread suppressor.
Gap is about 3/8". I don’t think a 10" rail would have fit, but I didn’t try it.
Good luck!
