Good pistol safe for in vehicle

Ohio’s CCW laws are such that I have to leave my pistol in the truck fairly often. Considering that the glove box is made of plastic and a few good kicks would break into it, I need a strong, easily accessible pistol safe for in my vehicle. Who has experience, good or bad on the products out there.

Thanks

What kind of vehicle?

Tuffy makes boxes primarily for Jeeps and open-top SUVs but they have some miscellaneous boxes that might work well. Pistol might fit well in this one.

I like these. http://www.center-of-mass.com/ they come with a cable that is useful in attaching them to the vehicle.

I have pistol safes similar to these, but made by Cannon. However, I think that they are identical to the V-Line safes. They use a simplex lock and can be cabled or bolted into the vehicle. I have six or seven of these safes and have not had any problems with the locks. However, I don’t think it would be too difficult to open the safe or rip it out with a simple pry-bar. Better than the glove box, though.

These are supposed to be very sturdy.

Here are some console safes for F-250 series pickups, but they are pricey and do not appear to use a simplex lock. Oops, probably won’t fit the split seat, I think, but I’ll leave the link for reference.

I’m glad you left the link. I just bought an Escalade and they have a center console vault for my truck. The picture doesn’t quite look right, but I can contact them to work out the details. Thanks.

I have a Center of Mass safe. http://www.center-of-mass.com/

Interesting looking, has anyone else used one with a G21?

I’ve got a 4811-S, and it’s rock solid. A little big, but you’d need a few minutes and a big hammer to get into it.
