For anyone who caught the CNN interview tonight (1-10-13) of NRA President David Keene and Wolf Blitzer, I was pleased that he appeared both professional and resolute concerning the fact that the NRA found “No common ground” for banning assault style weapons or high capacity magazines.
Keene also states:
[i]“They were checking a box. They were able to say we’ve met with the NRA. We’ve met with the people that are strong Second Amendment supporters,” Keene said. “We stated our position. They stated their position.”
While Keene portrayed President Barack Obama’s team as inflexible, the NRA official made clear his organization wasn’t budging either. He said the group would not support limits on high-capacity magazines or reinstating the federal assault weapons ban.
“We are not going to agree on these gun questions,” Keene said, dismissing the administration’s plans as “feel-good proposals.”[/i]

Many had concerns as this attack on our 2nd Amendment freedoms became more intense, that the NRA would compromise or otherwise not hold steadfast to the principles of our founding fathers. I was pleased that he represented the NRA well and even more so, that the NRA appears unified in it’s solid support of our rights.
Kinda made my membership feel like…an investment in the defense of our present and future generations freedoms.
Bravo! Glad they aren’t folding. Washington has been planning for this day for years…they will do something and paint the NRA as evil. I hope the NRA makes Bloomberg eat his words and they prove how powerful the people can be.

We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen. Instead, we will now take our commitment and meaningful contributions to members of congress of both parties who are interested in having an honest conversation about what works - and what does not.”
Yup. I’ve donated a lot of money to them over the years and when I read the ILA’s brief report regarding the white house meeting today I gave them more.
OR, be counted by “them” as one of “them”. If you’re here and reading this you are probably not one of them, so be one of us. Don’t hesitate, don’t put it off. The fools that think taking our guns is the answer aren’t hesitating or procrastinating.
Get letters off to your people in DC. If you have not already done it, it will not kill you to write a letter. Be brief. Be clear but polite.
If you are not making yourself heard, you’re just part of the herd.
Ive been waiting to see what the final answer from the NRA was gonna be on all this, I was very afraid they would cave on some issues. However, that does not seem to be the case, so Ill be renewing membership asap and encouraging others to do so.

Dont you think that the money for a lifetime membership could be used to a much better result right now instead of after this is all said and done? That seems like waiting to pour water on the fire til the fire gets put out.
I’m a Lifetime Member as well. Just the other day they sent me a form to sign up friends and family for a Lifetime Membership for only $300.00! I’ll be contacting alot of friends and family soon!
