good deal @ dicks sporting goods

stumbled upon a Benelli M4 at my local Dick’s
sticker price was $1699
went to check out and the girl at the register always asks you if you want to sign up for their card, and I always ignore it because i don’t need to save 10% on a basketball. But wait 10% on the m4 is a $170 savings !!

So i singed up, was instantly approved
$1,529 plus tax

just make sure you can pay it right off since the card comes with a 27% interest rate

I don’t shop at Dick’s anymore.

Dick’s Suspends Rifle Sales Nationwide Post Shooting

hadn’t seen that, its a shame
i’ve wanted one for years, and no one locally ever has them in stock
i had to jump on it

Same here

Me too… haven’t been there since.

I’ve been boycotting Dick’s Sporting Goods before it was cool.

No, really! Every time I went in, the employees could not have cared less about my business. I only went in on rare occasions to give them a chance to redeem themselves. I never did end up buying anything from them.

To the OP, don’t feel bad about the purchase. Now you know that Dick’s is living up to their name.

My experience as well. They didn’t seem to give a damn about us hunters, shooters and fishermen. They cater more toward the “real” (politically correct) sports. We have 2 near me, 1 of them barely has anything in the hunting and fishing departments. Neither one really staffs those departments worth a damn. I go to the smaller local shops or to Gander Mountain or Cabela’s.

I used to enjoy the store but ever since they did that crap my money goes somewhere else.

I gave Dicks money over the years mostly ammo and even bought some of those Troy battle mags, But now they can go Belly up for all I care

I like Dick’s, they been very good to us for years. No doubt their sales force can be a bit suspect at times but I’ve gotten to know how to deal with them. Prices have generally been very good on several guns I’ve bought. Not to mention all the other sporting goods and hunting gear I’ve bought.

I to was not happy when I heard about the AR deal with Troy, but after seeing what Troy charged our local gun store for their $700 AR… Troy is on my list of company’s to not deal with since they tried to rob us during these trying times.! I thought I might have a bit of an in with them, even tried to hook up one of our sponsors here, but after weeks of trying to set something up, I gave up. So I wondered what other details there might be about the Troy-Dick’s deal gone bad… Maybe there’s more to it than we know. I’ll continue to purchase from Dick’s, which by the way is about 1 mile from my house… and Troy… Steve Troys business is about 1.5 miles from my house…

I’ve got n use for Dick’s any longer. I bought quite a bit from them over the years. Shoes, fishing gear, camping gear and ammo. My last buy there was just before Sandy Hook and all that followed. I was in a rush to pick up some shotgun shells for a rabbit hunt the next morning. I accidentally bought 16 gauge. Instead of 20, didn’t realise it til I got home. Damn. Sidenote , I’m interested in buying a 16ga.shotgun.

Considering the minimum wage has driven down the wages for retail employees, it’s hard to blame them. There is little incentive for them to do better. There really is no where to go in retail.

For me, it wasn’t just through Troy deal that soured me on Dick’s. It was that they decided to stop selling ARs period. I did walk through one of their stores recently just for curiosity and did see that they were stocking evil AR accessories. No mags, but that didn’t did surprise me.

Did they not stock the mags because they quit selling them? Or just because they were OOS like everyone else.

After the Sandy Hook School shooting, this company joined the anti 2nd Ammendment crowd by pulling The Black Rifle from it’s shelves.

I have no use for them.

My understanding was that they were going to stop selling both the rifles and mags.

Glad to see Dicks getting the press it deserves here.

That Troy rifle is clearly not a $700 gun. If you spec it out, it’s coming in the $1200 range. The issue was Dick’s didn’t properly plan that a lot of people would want that. My local dicks was selling it for $1199 during the Black Friday sale, even though the website and numerous people in my state had taken advantage at other dick’s locations.

Especially with the ammo shortage, i really don’t see a reason to spend money with those douche lords ever again.

Richie… I was referencing the wholesale price out of Troy, not retail at Dicks. My point was Troy wholesaled a bunch of them out to a local gun store for $1995.00!!! That was down right wrong and robbery, I’d rather deal with Dicks, at least they didn’t try to take advantage of the gun buying public. They, (Dick’s) may have tried to keep a low profile, but they didn’t rape me!! Troy can pound sand… I’ve spent over $5,000 with Diamondhead in the last 6 weeks for similar product I may have bought from Troy. And to be honest, the Diamondhead product kicks butt!!! The best sights and handguards on the market

Dicks didnt take advantage of the shortage, but they did prove to be Obama’s puppet.
