Hello, I want some good SD ammo that has the extra weight to it. So I want to stick as close to 75 gr as I can.
Who makes good stuff? I’m pretty clueless when it comes to the “fancier” ammo. Is Hornady TAP good stuff?
Any help would be great!

Check out the Hornady TAP T2. Its a 75GR OTM bullet that has good performance in tests, and is loaded to 5.56 pressure.
Availability is kinda sketchy but ammotogo usually gets it in regularly but it sells out fast.
The regular TAP is loaded with the “match” 75 grain OTM bullet, and is loaded to .223 pressure. The T2 is a better bullet, and is loaded to higher pressures (more velocity).

I read through that post some time ago, but for whatever reason didn’t take as much of it in as I did this time. Really great information as always.
Couldn’t quite tell, but did you conclude that there was no reliability issue with the TAP other than the fact that each round was suspected to have been re-chambered?
Just ask because it seemed apparent you were factoring in several lots over a period of years. And because no other type of ammunition was specified as having this specific issue.
There was no issue with the TAP, the problems were with TTP’s and equipment.
Doesn’t Hornady make a red tip 75 grain bullet? That would appeal to me.
Yep they make an A-MAX but not sure if loaded though…TAP uses an OTM…
The Hornady regular and LE site sucks right now
