I’ve seen no reviews of Golden Tiger .223
Very good ammo. This is 7.62x39.
Made in the Russian Far East by Vympel. Excellent stuff.
I’ve run about 2000 rounds through various AKs. No issues. It shoots a little dirty, about like you’d expect from steel-cased Russian ammo. Non-corrosive, good plinking/target/training ammo.
It does my heart good to see this stuff under $200 again!

Got my second AK years ago, when all the 80/1000 deals were dried up. Places like AIM still had the stuff advertized at that price. Then… I paid $135/1000 and thought I was getting ripped - then it got out of control.
I tried to post this in a new thread but Widener’s Reloading suffered a fire to a large warehouse in Johnson City, TN. today. I wonder if all the Golden Tiger 7.62 X 39 went up in the fire?
Wow I just bought 400+ worth of ammo from them. Got a UPS tracking email already, though.
There are threads in other forums about Golden Tiger. Haven’t seen anything negative about it yet. Good stuff, and good price at about 18 cents per round for 7.62x39 before shipping. I plan on ordering 1,000 rounds.

it looks like Monarch steel case also. Isnt Monarch/Barnaul/Brown Bear the same thing. I ordered 1000 .223 of the GT on the weekend.
Thanks. I found that newspaper, but nothing about the fire, but I didn’t use their search feature. Sounds like empty casings and fireworks in that building.

the fire wasnt at wideners itself, it was a warehouse that stores stuff for wideners
