Going to bite on a mini RDS,

smaller than a Micro.

In the current selection out there from trijicon, burris, JP, etc.
what stands out as the best function, battery life, etc?

I am happy with full sized EoTech and Aimpoint sights, happy as hell with a Micro, etc.

I may go this route on an AR pistol build,
And have long been tempted to throw one on a 9mm Glock.

An Aimpoint PRO is too big for my intent, a micro is out of the budget for this build.

Budget is more than Bushnell TRS, no more than an Aimpoint Pro.

Pretty much everyone will tell you that the Trijicon RMR is where it’s at, when it comes to mini-red dots.

I will have to get a chance to handle the RMR before I go that far over the budget on one.

Have any of you compared one direct to a FastFire, JPoint, Deltapoint, etc.?

I’ve messed with a Fast Fire, and a Docter. Neither compare to the RMR for build quality.

I’ve heard some OK things about the Insight MRDS, but that has a plastic lens, which is prone to scratching.

I have a FastFire II mounted to a Glock 20SF (10mm). I love it, works great. If it can handle the recoil mounted to a slide, I’m sure I’d be fine on an AR. I did some comparisons a couple years back when I bought it & I just couldn’t justify the cost of the others. If I had to do it over again, I’d get the FF III. I’m sure others will suggest getting the RMR or Delta Point, which are great optics but it’s also a lot more coin to drop. You’ll have to decide if the extra $'s is worth it. For me it wasn’t.
